Acadia's Declaration wins Best of Breed from the 6-9 puppy class

"Cute Claire" is how I seem to always be referring to her at the moment. This weekend, two breeder/judges awarded "Cute Claire" Best of Breed on both Friday and Saturday for her first AKC championship points. I didn't show her in the groups as I thought she was too immature to handle the pressure, but on Saturday they had special groups for the Best Puppies of each breed. Since she was Best of Breed, she was automatically best sheltie puppy. She placed 2nd in the Puppy Herding group!! Claire is a Rincon x Allie daughter.
Sunday, Liza won Best of Breed for her first point! That was quite a weekend!

My puppy buyers are the BEST!!

This weekend most of the puppies from the Rincon x Allie litter are going to new homes. I have said it before, but it is still true, the people who buy my puppies are the BEST!!! Today Mike and I spent all day with puppy buyers. I love those interactions. Thank you!

When ever people ask if selling the puppies makes me sad, I always reply no- I love to add joy to peoples' families. My life is enriched by meeting such great people through my dogs- and I know that the dogs enrich their lives as well.

Allie wins a 4 point major

Yesterday I showed Grandgables Acadia Accolade ("Allie") to her second major bringing her point total to 7 pts, both majors. It was even more fun because her breeder, Guy Jeavons, was there to see her win. When the judge pointed at me in the winners class, I heard this loud cheer from outside the ring and was so happy to know that Allie had more supporters than just Guy. It is fun to win, but it is really fun to be able to share the excitement with others- so thank you to everyone who supported us!

The night before there was a sanctioned match following Best In Show judging. I decided to stay and show one of the puppies I have kept from the Acadia King Charles x Acadia Peace Of Mind litter. I had only brought Eden along with me on this show weekend, and it was nice to spend some time with her. She won the puppy herding group! A nice way to start -and I hope a glimpse of her future as well!

Dean Von Push was at the shows and he took these pictures. Thank you Dean.

New Canadian Champion Grandgables Acadia Accolade

Allie wins her final point under judge Bart Miller. Allie was handled by her breeder, Guy Jeavons who reports that Mr. Miller "actually felt heads, looked for depth of skull, assessed shoulders, etc, etc." Thank you Mr. Miller for really examining the dogs. Thank you Guy and Mark for allowing me to share such a quality bitch with you. Allie is Canadian Champion #54 for her sire Am/Can. Ch. Apple Acres Expedition.

Allie will be bred to Am/Can. Ch. Grandgables Boy Oh Boy when she comes into season this summer. This year BoyBoy was Best of Opposite sex at both the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) National Speciality and the Canadian Shetland Sheepdog Association (CSSA) National Specialty.

Grandgables Acadia Accolade wins a Specialty

Allie is in Canada visiting her breeders Guy Jeavons and Mark McMillian. This past weekend Allie won a specialty show under the respected judge Joe Molloy. Mr. Molloy said that he loved her head profile with correct stop, he loved her neck and of course her lovely movement.

She won two days, the second day was also a breeder judge, Leslie Rogers.

Both judges commented that she is a VERY valuable bitch. Thank you Guy and Mark for sharing her with me. I think she is valuable too!

GrandGables Acadia Accolade

"Allie" as she is known to friends, was purchased from Guy Jeavons and Mark McMillan (GrandGables shelties) when she was about 4 months old. Allie is co-owned with Guy and Mark and went to visit them and be shown in Canada. She has done exceptionally well, winning 5 pts. under breeder /judge Leslie Rogers and then 2 pts. the next day giving her a total of 7 pts. (out of the required 10 points needed in Canada) her first weekend in the ring! This weekend she won another 2 pts. leaving her just 1 pt. away from her Canadian Championship.

Allie is a Ch. Apple Acres Expedition, ROM, ROMC (call name "Trek") daughter out of Can. Ch. GrandGables Whos That Girl. Her litter sister is Can. Ch. GrandGables Schoolgirl Crush- owned by Guy and Mark.

I am so thrilled that Guy and Mark were willing to share this lovely girl with me. As you can see, Allie has many good qualities- what you can not see is that Allie has a wonderful, correct, harsh coat, and movement you could watch all day. THANK YOU Guy and Mark for this valuable addition.
